Red Dead Redemption 2 On Top Again; Press Coverage Top 10 Week 48

Red Dead Redemption 2 is back holding the reigns, leading the way in the top spot, up from second the previous week. With the online beta going live, this was the main topic of conversation dominating stories; however it also received a large amount of mentions in articles primarily about Cyberpunk 2077, thanks to CD Projekt citing the game as a quality benchmark.

There’s a huge gap between first and second this week with a 1,200 article difference. Fornite found itself up one place taking number two but with no particular subject matter standing out head and shoulders above the rest. There was a diverse spread of stories in fairly equal amounts, including details about the delay of account merging, Ninja speaking out about parents responsibilities when it comes to child game addiction and the announcement that registered player numbers reached 200 million.

Fallout 76, now in third, is still being plagued by mostly negative press coverage as discussions about bugs and unplayability continue. There was also around 12% of activities talking about the disappointment of the Power Armour Edition due to its lack of a canvas bag, as was advertised, with many dubbing the issue ‘NylonGate’.

Darksiders III makes its debut this week, in at number four, a result perhaps not as high as it should be considering it was launch week. 16% of articles were reviews, giving a current average worldwide score of 70% with a large chunk of coverage also dissecting the launch trailer.

Just Cause 4 also makes its debut this week at number seven, a week before its launch, with a huge 46% of articles based around trailers and videos.

There’s no change at the bottom of the top 10 with League of Legends, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and FIFA 19 taking the eighth, ninth and tenth spots respectively, the same as last week. We’ve lost Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII and Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee from the top 10 completely, with the latter only having appeared for just one week.
